Two Dog's Perspectives

Punkin pie and I were sitting outside today enjoying the most beautiful afternoon that we've seen in a while.
I was spending a moment meditating trying to tune out the noise of traffic and windchimes and West Texas wind.
All of a sudden she looked up at me and said, "It's funny how there used to be noise all around me to make me bark, to distract me, to make me on high alert and edgy. Why did the world get so quiet?"
I smiled as I realized I was trying to quieten my world and she was living in absolute quiet due to her ears being old and her body growing tired.
She said, "You could learn a lot from an old dog."
And I replied "I just did."
And then she added this little tidbit, "It is our perception about the way things are that make them real to us. I perceive that all is well in the world right now. And so it is."
She is one smart dog.
And then she headed off to bark at nothing...just for old time sake.

After uploading my last little essay about Punkin Pie and her perception of life, Paisley decided, in all of her jealous ways, that she needed to get involved as well.
This little gal doesn't miss a thing. Her ears are fine, her smell is fine, her "love lever" is always turned on.
She quizzed me about the wind asking, "Do you ever get tired of the west Texas wind?"
I answered, "Not really, why?"
She replied, "You don't notice all the strange smells that blow in on windy days?"
I shook my head.
So she continued, "I know I smell McDonald's fries from Walmart, and the people staying at the hotel a few blocks away. I know the neighbors are having chicken fried steak for supper."
"You can smell all that just because it's windy?"
"Yes, and why are we sitting out here instead of you being in the kitchen making chicken fried steak for us?"
She has a point.

HUMOR-IST (is that a word?) I can find and expel (the word expel makes me think of passing gas) humor in most moments of life
SPEAKER-IST (I do my best) I am a motivational speaker using humor, poignant story telling and a call to action
KIND-IST (not a word but should be ), I try to spread kindness wherever I go
NOVEL-IST (haven't published it yet, but it is in the incubator),
NOW-IST (absolutely not a word, but Webster is watching me for ideas) Just trying to live in the present moment
INTROSPECTIVE-IST (search inside for the meaning) I love to find hidden gems in every day life
